A REAL SIMPLE craft

Over Thanksgiving Break, my mom bought a copy of REAL SIMPLE magazine and they had this great idea of make candles out of old teacups and creamers. I guess I have always LOVED old things and if I could decorate my entire house in Shabby Chic, I would. But I have a dog who sheds black and white hair EVERYWHERE so I guess my dream of white couches and bedspreads will not become a reality.

What you will need for the project is:
- teacups and creamers
- Soy wax kit (you can by microwaveable wax at any craft store for about $30)
- Wicks ($2)

Here are the treasures we found at the antique store. I love all the ones we found. We bought probably 6 teacups and 2 creamers for about $25.

Then you melt the wax in the microwave, put a wick in each container, and let it dry.

And here is the finished product. These remind me of Anne of Green Gables and all things girly! Wouldn't this make a great gift! I just love how they turned out.

Maybe the Best Question Ever

As many of you know I started my Weight Watchers journey back in March to date, I have lost 55 pounds! HOLLAA!

Yesterday a conversation went like this:

DS: Are you okay? I am concerned about you.
Me: Of course, I am doing great. Did I tell you that I training for a 1/2 marathon?
DS: Are you sick?
Me: What do you mean am I sick?
DS: Well you have been losing a bunch of weight and I was just concerned you were sick with cancer or something.
Me: HAHA! (I totally laughed out loud) Umm, no I am not sick. If you hadn't noticed before I was F-A-T and I am just trying to lose some weight.
DS: Oh well that is good, glad you aren't sick!

Well buddy, I am glad I am not sick too! Thanks for the encouragement.
